Late breaking news and also the fics I am working on

John Rogers is once again claiming to have and Ao3 account. I am pretty sure he's joking, but hey he has good taste in hosting sites.

Dean has confirmed that the first 8 episodes are dropping all at once. The show isn't going to be weekly... darnnit. I cannot do 8 episodes all at once, so I will be blocking myself from tumblr and twitter for a bit once it drops. I cannot binge this show like that. Fortunately, one of the leverage discords I am on set up separate channels for each ep so people can talk in whatever one they are up to. It's also possible that overseas viewers will see it later or weekly because it's separate distro deals.



I am not going to get all these done before the new shows drop, and one the new shows drop I'll have different ideas and will be thinking about the vibe the characters have in 2021 so I need to wrap up what I can and toss it on the Ao3.com

* The Other Mile High Job - Hardison/Eliot. They are at an airport at the end of a long job where they haven't been actually in the same room until now. Hardison arranges for them (combo and grifting and hacking) for them to get first class seats on a very lux flight that has a spa with a lockable door for some alone time, he just doesn't tell Eliot first. Also Hardison is very germ/dirty things averse so there is no way he'd do anything in most bathrooms anywhere, let alone a plane. This meets his standards, barely. A few commercial airlines run planes with various amenities like showers, private rooms, etc. This is all based in real stuff, but I am being non-specific about what country / airline / route is being used. I am using the Emirates Air A380 for the cabin layout and seat design. ... i may watch too many travel videos on youtube ...

Also Eliot is very subby during sex.

I am at 4/5k words and should have a final draft soon. I am pretty confident in getting this done relatively soon.

* Working With Them - Trio. Eliot dealing with his emotions working closely with Parker on part of a job. Eliot dealing with his emotions working closely with Hardison on part of a job. Eliot dealing with his emotions working with them being a couple on a job. Then Eliot gets together with them ... somehow. Also this follows the plot of a con and takes place in Alaska for some reason.

I really, really like what I have written for the first two chapters. I don't know what to do for 3 and 4. If I continue to hit a wall with this I might slice it up and just post the first chapters as random stand alone pining ... in Alaska.

* Ramen fic - Eliot/Hardison. 90% of Eliot's emotional expression is through food. Whatever nerd thing Hardison is into has him ordering instant ramen from Japan, so Eliot makes some from scratch while carefully hiding how much work is involved.

I have some good writing done on this, but am not sure what I want to ending to be. I like the idea of Eliot thinking he's playing it cool but he's actually really obvious, like, they know his love language and this is a messy love letter ... but I am not sure how to make that work.

* Skyrim Fic - Eliot/Hardison. Eliot takes Hardison on a really nice date to ruins on private land because he plays lots of video games with that aesthetic. Then they have sex. ... a lot of my Leverage fic writing is 'Hardison has a nice day with things he likes'.

I have a bunch written on this and can likely get it done if I focus on it. There really isn't a plot to it, it's just totally self indulgent 'we know canonically that they have a lot of money and resources and can do ridic stuff if they want to'

* Fake Dating On A Train - Eliot/Hardison. I love what little I have written but I am nowhere on this. Getting this anywhere near done is a long shot.



I also have a few random WIPS like 'Eliot struggles with accepting non-sexual intimacy' and also another trio fic. Writing all this out I realize that after Mile High, I really need to focus on Skyrim. I am pretty sure Skyrim is going to be easiest to complete.

I'm certain he is not at all joking. He's just sneakier about it than Noelle Stevenson, so we haven't figured out which one is him yet. (Where I know which October Daye fanficcer is Seanan McGuire but I'm pretty sure it's another Naomi Novik type situation in terms of whether the connection should be Googleable, and Yoon Ha Lee's DW links to Yoon Ha Lee's AO3 upon which there are several fics for works by Yoon Ha Lee.)

I really like the sound of the ramen fic.

He might, I just doubt it. I think someone would have recognized his writing style by now if he was writing actual Leverage fanfic. Plenty of people have looked thoroughly. But, who knows?

I'm a little sad also that the episodes are being released all at once. TBH, I'm disconnected enough from fandom (and still finishing the original series, RIP) that it probably won't impact me TOO badly to wait. But I definitely don't want to binge it.

I love the fic ideas! I especially like The Other Mile High Job and the trio idea, but they all sound delightful, and I will excitedly read any of them that you share.

It's going to be 8 episodes, then a few months hiatus and then the back 8.

I'd prefer weekly in many ways, but hey at least there are new episodes and I can just stay off most social media for a week.

Agreed! I'm usually pretty good at avoiding spoilers, so I'll do my best until I get caught up. (And have to find the time to GET caught up without doing the thing where I'm so afraid to let it end that I can't let myself watch it, haha.)
