* The state of transit is getting dire. The buses are running ads for hiring fairs where the 'To St John's' text should be. I take the 75 a lot, and it's text has literally been replaced with the signing bonus info, since it has digits in common.

* I feel like I want to sit some people down and explain that 'Open Seas' literally means lawless. (Open Seas is the main NFT marketplace and where a lot of assets are getting 'stolen') Like, getting out of jurisdiction into 'open waters', you know, like thieves and other criminals like to do. People keep calling for the US's law enforcement to get involved in international transactions that operate outside of it's, or any country's, laws. Like, technically a lot of these thefts aren't thefts because there aren't laws. Code is law, and if someone uses the code to take your money or Apes...

* Munecat guested on More Perfect Union with a short but very good video on how crypto sells itself on 'democratizing' the economy when in reality what's going on is insane wealth concentration. It's a money vacuum sopping up money from desperate masses who don't fully get the lack of financial protection going on, up to the 0.1%. Not the 1%, it's way more concentrated than that.

* While I was sick I mainlined Coffeezilla videos. He does amazing and well sourced call outs of crypto and NFT scams, with a sort of lo-fi tech noir vibe. Here is the Safemoon one.

Okay this post has mostly been about Web3... but I mainlined Coffeezilla

a big part of the appeal of all things crypto has literally always been that it's not subject to financial regulations

(such as uh. those that were put in place to prevent running exactly these sorts of scams.)

The calls for US law enforcement (or government!) to step in and save people who've lost their crypto stuff is... hilarious. Sad. Mostly hilarious. THE WHOLE POINT WAS THAT THERE WAS NO REGULATION. YOU WERE VERY ALL-IN ON THAT POINT.

Gonna add Coffeezilla to my to-watch list. That sounds like good shit.
