* Seth Green's new show can't go forward because he based it on his Bored Ape... and someone stole his Bored Ape. Cue thousands of people on twitter thinking that this was illegal and law should be involved.

There are a few things to laugh at unpack here. The blockchain and BAYC's smart contracts have no legal standing. The show is being halted, possibly scrapped, to prop up the fiction of NFT ownership. Dan Olsen has a good thread with pictures here showing that many BAYCs are nearly indistinguishable and idea of them having separate copyrights makes no sense, and also a link to the show's trailer which is... a mess.

If the project is scrapped, people will lose their jobs because 'sorry, we need to prop to the fictions of Web3'

* That's it, laughing at this has been my evening. That and re-watching Constantine instead of trying to get my Stranger Things re-watch done in time.

That's a wild story. I can't believe the Internet has gotten so crazy.

I have been laughing at that ever since I heard about it!

Particularly the idea that they will cancel the show so that NFT "ownership" stays "real." It's just... amazing. Truly.

I can only hope so, but that's probably too much to expect, lol.
