* Twitch has effectively banned offshore gambling. Twitch was being used as a work around to gambling laws in first world countries and funneling it to... places. This partial ban is a huge deal. Like, a lot of these gambling sites were run out of totalitarian regimes that actually ban gambling, but where fine with and even protective of these weird influencer compounds and gambling companies. Like, we couldn't be 100% sure where hundreds of millions were being funneled, but lots of big glowing signs pointed to various bad places.

Between that and removing hosting functionality, someone is cleaning house over there big time. So much for Christian Girl Autumn, it's Bad People Having A Bad Time Fall.

It's so weird, I am used to new stories and corporate announcements being the opposite of good.

* I've been adding twitter to my site blocker. I re-add every time I check to make there be more steps to getting to it and wow, I check twitter too often. Glad that I've added that. I also block FB and don't check more than once a day. 3 times a day seems sufficient for tweetle. ... It's possible listening to On and On has me wanting to run away from the internets more, well, those sections of it at least.

It's great to be getting more good news! (for a change). Of course, I won't get lulled into a false sense of security, lest I be crushed when it doesn't last (sorry, that's the pessimist in me).

Yeah, it wont last but it feels like a lot of deep, crunchy structural stuff that's hard to explain to people is getting fixed... and I wonder how much the long form essay format becoming a big thing on YT has helped, because it's become a good move for these companies to care.
