Per Google maps my walk was at least 5.5 miles. My butt says it was longer. I wander a lot on my walks so it's hard to track milage. (I've used walking trackers on my phone but they drain the battery in like 40 minutes) This was a doozy. I used the bus to fling myself far north... farther than I meant. I kept thinking 'eh, one more stop' and then... I realized how far north I was.

I had to navigate Alameda ridge at night, but I am familiar with it so it wasn't too bad. I did wind up walking down the 110 step staircase, back UP it to shoot it with different settings and then back down again at the start of my too-long walk.

I feel like I got a few keepers. And I feel like my ankles hate me.

And guess who has walked through a third pair of shoes? So far my kill count is one pair of hiking boots and two pairs of Sketchers... Wait, 3 Sketchers. There was the pair I slid in because no tread, the pair where I was like 'why is my left foot wet?' and it was because of a literal hole and now these. In other exciting footwear news, it occurred to me that I might want to sometimes replace socks as well. If I can literally see through the bottoms of hiking socks, maybe is time? I've just trashed and replaced my hiking socks.

That many stairs sounds like HELL.

And damn, shoe killer.

(I do the same thing with socks. Too often, it seems like.)
