Normally, I start these post with some pics I think are eye-catching to help lure people into clicking that cut tag... Not this time. This time I am starting with a visual explanation of 'navigating Alameda Ridge at night'. This is not the only way though, but the ways without stairs are nearly as steep in parts so this is the easiest and most direct way:

If you like urban hiking, you can do the Alameda Ridge Route where you hit all the stairs deliberately. I've done it a few times, but not recently.

Plot continues to thicken at my neighbor's

This is not a good picture, but it might suit the vibe of the subject?

A lot of walking, but some keepers.

Love the attitude of the cat! The stand encouraging people to celebrate the ones they love is so cute.

Those are beautiful - I love the Baldwin quote.

The stairs are Peak Halloween, IMO.

I really like the pictures of the stairs! They look like hell, but they're very cool looking.

And yay for the decor next door!

I do like the steampunk-y box.

And I really do like "There is enough if we share."

Kitty!

Bench skeletons!

You got lots of great pictures!

I like the "if we share" piece. I also kind of like the idea that the peeling layers of flyers re-reveal older art pieces that had been covered over.

The stairs are neat! Portland seems like a city with a lot of elevation change, haha.

I guess even a few ridges or major hills can create quite a lot of stairs, haha. 280+ steps sounds CRAZY to me. I mean, I go on hikes with a fair amount of elevation change and all, but it's not usually that many actual STAIRS.

But your stairs there DO look very cool, and I'd love to see more pics of them.

I think the pictures of these turned out very nicely. That second one in particular gives a good perspective of the distance up.

I can definitely understand that, too. :/ Periodically Alex and I go through a "let's drive around and look at fancy houses/neat yard decor/pretty gardens/etc." phases. It's enjoyable, and involves looking at things that I love to see... but personally it gets to be a bit much on the "I wish I could have that and probably never will" scale.
