So, the Teen Wolf movie and also another werewolf thing come out on the same day, same network and I've seen promo material that is white text over the dark images in a smilar font for both. I keep thinking I've made a mistake and it's the same project. But nope Wolf Pack and Teen Wolf: The Breakfast Cereal The Movie are both coming out on Jan 26, on Paramount... and as far as I can tell are unrelated projects outside of some overlap from coming out of the same studio. I keep expecting to find out that I am wrong and it's the same thing.

Teen Wolf I have no interest in. I did try to watch it during it's heyday because I love werewoofs, but the show did not click for me at all. I will be checking out Wolf Pack.

Wolf Pack trailer. It looks like the sort of teen drama that doesn't interest me, but I will give it a go... because woofs.

* Night Court is back! I will watch it as some point. I loved the original show. I hate 99% of all sitcoms, but this is a rare one I loved. But I feel no need to keep up with it so I will watch it whenever I don't have to like buy it.

I think I watched it a lot because I hated most sitcoms, didn't like soap operas or other shows made for adults at the time, Star Trek was on so late I'd get in trouble if I tried to watch it, fantasy TV was super rare... it was just one of the few things I actually liked that I had access to.

I didn't know there were TWO werewoof things! I'd heard about the Teen Wolf movie. I feel like that's a show I should have been into, but I slid off the couple random episodes I caught when at a friend's house. Would have unlocked a big part of the AO3 map at the time, though.

I tried with Teen Wolf. It was popular during a time when I didn't have a fandom and was sad about it. I slid off the show and the fic hard. Yeah, it would have unlocked a lot!

I feel like some people are seeing the Wolf Pack stuff and assuming it's Teen Wolf, esp since at least one Teen Wolf promo used the wording 'wolf pack'. Also, the promo mats are likely made by the same PR people.

I wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing that the marketing is so similar... I can see it capturing some cross-interest (probably mostly people who are looking for Teen Wolf and find the other, rather than the reverse), but I feel like it could backfire in the sense that the target audience won't even realize there are TWO different things!

And yeah, I noticed that I got a Teen Wolf promo thing on tumblr that said something like "The Wolf Pack is Back!"

Yeah, I saw that 'wolf pack is back' thing to and I'm like.... *triple checks IMDB*

Right? I would have had no idea these were two different things! Or I'd have thought it was a fake-out, like that movie that was marketed as "The Forest" (I think that was it?) for a few trailers and promo stuff before "revealing" it was actually a Blair Witch sequel, lol.

Yeah, I keep expecting someone familiar with the franchise to be all 'lol everyone knows that it's really a spin off'
