Imgur 'bout to delete a lot

So... first all they didn't always *have* user accounts. I had one when they started and lost it when they just got rid of them for a while because it was actually slowing growth to bother with them. Every account I've gotten since then has been deleted by them, I assume because I didn't use it enough. So, a lot of old content is going to go away. All sorts of images across the internet are about to go away. Also, nudity ban...

For as much as people gravitate to pr0n, there's sure a lot of pretending they don't want it. 0_o

Ugh. The attempted "purification" of the internet pisses me off so much, and I don't even use Imgur.

It's been a stable go-to image host for ages now. This is going to suck.

This is going to break a LOT of shit. :/ I know that imgur hasn't always been a stable host (see: removing accounts), but it's been such a longstanding one, there are an awful lot of things about to vanish.

It was also THE image host for a long time. I have a feeling that a lot of damage is going to be done and people will only realize the extent after.

It really was. It was better than most of the alternatives, especially after photobucket started to suck hard. I think you're right, this will have a long-lasting impact that will take a long time to know the full extent of.
