Some good pics. Some that aren't keepers, just reference pics or 'what is this?' Also, one picture... is a storefront on a main street but not SFW

Alternate take:

The angle I want... involves standing in the street and I don't do that while shooting. I am probably going to take a few more wacks at this.

IDk why but this lamp intrigues me:

Not a keeper, another pic taken for reference:

Quick grab of someone's window. I've seen this a lot recently? Old houses where the interior is outlined in red LEDs, always red. IDK? Is this really a trend?

I like that flower in the first pic!

And the flareon pixel sprite.

The lamp is truly amazing.

I wonder why it's red LEDs? I don't know of anything in particular that red light is considered good for, beyond allegedly not wrecking your night vision too badly, so I can't think of a real reason other than trendiness for that to be the color everyone picks.
I'd rather have blue or purple, if I were going for that, personally.

It is a flareon! I'm good at IDing my gen 1 and 2 pokemanz, but my knowledge is spotty after that, lol.

Red seems like such a weird choice! I want to know *why*, lol.

Lol. I know... some pokemon! Others I recognize but couldn't name if my life depended on it. Some I probably don't recognize at all, ha. They do seem to be frequent street art subjects, though.

There are definitely a few of those cultural touchstones that are helpful to know at least *something* about. There are a lot of franchises that I don't know much about, and I realize I likely miss out on a lot of references and context because of it.

Minus some childhood nostalgia for the early movies, the pokemon show/movies don't have much of a hold on me. I DO find many of the mainline games to be fun, though (though I haven't played most of them). And I had quite the extensive card collection as a kid, haha.

There is value in knowing something about certain cultural touchstones - there are a lot that I know I only know by osmosis, and don't actually have an understanding of the source material. But there's also a fair amount that I'm willing to just Never Get. Minecraft and Fortnight included, haha

When it comes to Pokemon, I think the games are a lot more enjoyable than the anime, but the entries into the franchise that I consider the best are also harder to find - so many handheld games go out of production quickly, or were only made for systems that are now several incarnations out of date.

I didn't really *get* the appeal of Minecraft so much, and never had any interest in Fortnite. Also never tried to get Among Us to any degree greater than understanding the memes and references it spawned. Some of the things The Youth are into are just not for me, and that's okay, lol.

Yeah, I can understand the appeal of Minecraft, but not for me, despite it being such a cultural phenomenon in a lot of ways.

Oof, yeah. The Werewolf/Mafia variation we mostly played when I was a kid or teen was "Murder in the Dark", though we played a more usual version of Werewolf a few times. It could be fun, but... yeah, there's a lot of baggage around the "I can just TELL that you Aren't One Of Us" mechanic. When you're a closeted teen in a group of people you're afraid will Figure It Out, that's a WHOLE dimension to it.

It's interesting, in its way, that you can trace those older folk games through all the regional "sleepover game" type variants, like Murder in the Dark or Ghost in the Graveyard (though that one is more of a blend with hide and seek) or Witchhunt, through card games, through board games, through video games. In a way it's an "adapting to the times" thing, and in a way it's just selling something that doesn't need a saleable component.

Man, I need to figure out how to monetize and popularize a reskin of something that didn't need monetizing. :P I'll be rich!

But yeah, people get weird about things like that. Depressingly even when it's something that doesn't belong to any particular writer/developer/etc. Sometimes it's like people can't imagine an idea existing if someone doesn't "own" the rights to it.
