Some good pics. Some that aren't keepers, just reference pics or 'what is this?' Also, one picture... is a storefront on a main street but not SFW

Alternate take:

The angle I want... involves standing in the street and I don't do that while shooting. I am probably going to take a few more wacks at this.

IDk why but this lamp intrigues me:

Not a keeper, another pic taken for reference:

Quick grab of someone's window. I've seen this a lot recently? Old houses where the interior is outlined in red LEDs, always red. IDK? Is this really a trend?

The lamp is truly amazing.
I wonder why it's red LEDs? I don't know of anything in particular that red light is considered good for, beyond allegedly not wrecking your night vision too badly, so I can't think of a real reason other than trendiness for that to be the color everyone picks.
I'd rather have blue or purple, if I were going for that, personally.

I've seen a few houses that did exactly that to their interior. Not a ton, but that is such a specific thing to do... I know lightbars are big in like small bachelor pad design, but these are not small and red is an odd choice

But there's also a fair amount that I'm willing to just Never Get. Minecraft and Fortnight included, haha

Also never tried to get Among Us to any degree greater than understanding the memes and references it spawned. Some of the things The Youth are into are just not for me, and that's okay, lol.

Date: 2023-05-08 04:33 am (UTC)From:As for Among Us, I cannot with social deduction games. Werewolf, Mafia, The Resistance... any game where you have to figure out who secretly does not belong using social clues and not game mechanics... no, just no, no, no, no, so much no. People picking out who secretly does not belong, is not one of us... nooooo I'll be over here playing Phasmophobia instead.
I've been called 'sus' based on my gender presentation. ha ha funny because memes. It's not a 'problem with social cues' thing it's a 'lets kill the person we think is not like us' thing.
I hate the words 'hey guys I brought a fun card gamed called The Resistance for us to play' so much. It was hugely popular before Among Us. Also, Werewolf and Mafia are folk games with the same mechanics dating back a loooong time and basically people turned it from something that requires nothing into a card game, then board games and then video games.
Sorry that was long but I've noped out so many times over Mafia, Werewolf, Resistance, Among Us, etc. I know they've since added a lot of game mechanics to Among Us to keep is fresh, but still nope

Date: 2023-05-09 05:03 am (UTC)From:Oof, yeah. The Werewolf/Mafia variation we mostly played when I was a kid or teen was "Murder in the Dark", though we played a more usual version of Werewolf a few times. It could be fun, but... yeah, there's a lot of baggage around the "I can just TELL that you Aren't One Of Us" mechanic. When you're a closeted teen in a group of people you're afraid will Figure It Out, that's a WHOLE dimension to it.
It's interesting, in its way, that you can trace those older folk games through all the regional "sleepover game" type variants, like Murder in the Dark or Ghost in the Graveyard (though that one is more of a blend with hide and seek) or Witchhunt, through card games, through board games, through video games. In a way it's an "adapting to the times" thing, and in a way it's just selling something that doesn't need a saleable component.
