* I went back to the Leverage fic that got derailed by my Stranger Things fandom. I've done a lot of editing and added a few thousand words. It needs a lot more work, but I got in there and did some.
* With my VHS bootlegging fic I really need to give it another pass, and then ask around and see if I can find a beta for it. Time is not a pressing factor right now and getting actual feedback on my writing would be good, much better than sitting here just staring at it. A chance to work with someone, this is what I really want I just need to try.
* 6+1 - I tried for a bit today but I am so blocked on this, and I don't know why.
* I haven't gotten a lot done in the past few days because...

My brain switched gears. Dammit brain. This may not look like much, okay it really, really doesn't look like much but oh my god is it driving me nuts.
This is a project I've wanted to do for years, render the loft from The Sentinel in isometric form. Coupla problems with this project:
1 - I am working from screencaps I am making from a youtube upload:

I have the DVDs, but they are so cheaply made that they have codec issues with most players. I can't play them on any device I can screencap.
2 - Some parts of the set are not static. The wall across from the bedrooms? Sometimes it's 5 feet from the front door, sometimes 25, sometimes it's replaced with the exterior wall and balcony... That wall has no fixed form. Also, they move the fireplace and sometimes the walls of Blair's bedroom. To set up shots they just do... whatever. This, I can handle. It will take some doing, but once I've got all the actually static stuff nailed down I can just make judgement calls on where the fireplace is and how Blair's room is shaped. Just don't ask about the bathroom...
3 - This is the biggie: the production values sucked. Even though the loft is clearly a soundstage, filming was cramped. Shots are often tight on the actors. When it's actually a wide shot, there are a lot of issues with lens distortion and parallax due to crappy lenses.
Getting the exact right electric kettle or other things doesn't matter a lot, details were hard to see. I can have the coat rack be shaped a bit different. But, for this to feel like THE loft and not A loft I need to get the shapes, proportions and distances right and that is a mess. Even if we could rarely see it clearly viewers will still have a sense of the space. Even though we never get a good shot of the kitchen a lot of stuff happens there and it needs to feel right. The vibes are in the distances.
This still needs a ton of work, but as soon as I have even the kitchen even somewhat done I am going to release it as it's own fanwork even though I intend to do more.
The plan is this: Do a drawing of the kitchen and the rest of that 'slice' of the loft. Then, do a drawing adding in Blair's room and the dining area. Then, add in the living room (there are actual, good establishing shots of this ONE section) and Jim's room (this will obscure Blair's room the kitchen and other stuff), pull out more and draw the windows/balcony.
I have another file where I am trying to work out the floor plan in a top-down grid. I've done a lot of work on the project that is not immediately obvious in that WIP drawing. I intend to post as I go: Kitchen, slice 1, slice 2, slice 3 and slice 4, then colored and lit versions. It is possible in procreate to make a gif going through the versions, but that is waaaaay above my ability level and too much to think about right now. I am still trying work on the fact that the upper windows proportions are not right.
I am also trying to make myself make smaller, short, looser isometric projects where I am not trying a dozen things to see how to best do guitar strings that are too small for my line width or other super fiddly things that no one will even notice....
