Dean Devlin teased a big annoucement, but I don't think anyone saw this coming

The Librarian spin-off picked up by CW. Now, there are a list of reasons that is a weird statement right now, but there it is!

How TF did Dean sell a show in the middle of a Writer's Strike, with a actor's strike looking more and more probably every day, to the CW of all places?

Obviously, I hoped the announcement was going to be renewing Leverage in the middle of this mess, and if that had happened that would be a strong signal that the networks were giving in, since FreeVee is Amazon owned and it sounds like they are looking to build up FreeVee a lot, it's done well for them.

But, I guess the upshot is that all the recent think pieces eulogizing the CW were a bit premature. It sounds more like they were just getting rid of most of their current shows and possibly changing who they had licensing deals with. Moving towards having their own, homegrown IPs and a few IPs that are, well, way cheaper to license than DC characters

Ooooooohhhh- oh my god oh my god oh my god I... I never expected to hear about The Librarians getting picked back up. This is SUCH odd news, but the cheer and delight that I felt upon reading that is inexpressible. I had to click the link just to check that I was thinking of the SAME Librarians you were posting about.

I... don't know how to feel about them becoming a CW show, but like... frankly, I just can't process anything past the giddiness. I hope I hope I hope it's the same cast, they were lovely.

It's such weird news, especially now!

It sounds like it will mostly be a new crew, but Dean wants to bring back the old crew when he can. But, right now nothing about it can actually move forward, so it'll be a while before they can even try to nail that down.
