Evernote just laid off most of it's staff and all the staff in the US and Chile

I don't know if anyone here uses it, but this seems like the relevant place to put a heads up. One of many articles. Apparently, users were not given a heads up about possible massive changes and it's possible that the app could shut down without warning, either entirely or just to some markets.

Ten years ago, companies accustomed us to cloud services. The next ten years have come when they will wean us off them. And I always said that everything should be kept at home.

Yeah, I never got on board with cloud stuff. Services can just vanish.

Well, that's shit. It seems like the the tech world is going up in flames recently. Well, more in flames than it was before.

Something amusing about this though is that I was just reminiscing about how my ~2013 Wacom tablet will probably outlive the apps its CD came pre-installed with, one of them being Evernote. And what do you know!
