* I need an explainer on Richard Siken being a SPN slasher writer being a big deal. Apparently he got an early book as a writer from the fandom because he was used a lot for fic titles? someone make a 10-20 minute video essay so I can just drink and watch rather than chase this down.

* Why is it when I play an hour of GW2 I feel like I've done several things, but when I try to do one thing in Baldur's Gate 3 it's like... oops there goes Sunday. Because it's a long game, I am using MMO rules for it in terms of how much am letting myself play.

I saw that tweet screenshot going around tumblr, but wasn't aware that it would be quite such a capital-letters Big Deal, lol.

Though yeah, I know that a lot of lines from his poems/essays/whatnot have been popular for fic titles and things, so it's sort of a funny "full-circle" feel, I guess?

Sadly, I also feel like I do not know enough about the whole thing, so if someone makes a nice concise explanatory video, you'll have to share it with me, lol.

I am good at running things down, but I am too busy trying to save The Sword Coast and get to Baldur's Gate right now. It seems cool, but being in fandom loops is too much effort sometimes

As far as I can tell, the wank is primarily that he says he preferred Destiel to Wincest (and liked Johnlock more than that), but admits that he wrote some Wincest as well. Soooo the wank is "oh no, popular gay poet that lots of people were very impressed by and who was held up as an excellent literary genius admitted that he wrote incest fic."

He also said something that boiled down to "quit being an asshole; writing about something in fiction regarding a fictional relationship between fictional characters is not 'committing incest'. Get over that nonsense."

Lots of people hate when people have a "don't be a dick, get over it" stance.

Kinda feels like a repeat of the wank when people were really mad at Bryan Fuller for being happy the fandom shipped Hannibal and Will?

So near as I can tell from the Super-wiki, it's that his first book was heavily read as Wincest and that he also wrote Johnlock fanfiction for BBC Sherlock (see http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/Richard_Siken)

Which makes him saying he's a Destiel fan very interesting to folks
