olivermoss | Baldur's Gate - still living in Act 1

I just had such bad luck repeatedly on a very long encounter I thought it might be scripted to fail. Nope, just terrible, terrible luck. I am at least just barely past where I was before I restarted.

Sad times for my poor Tav. I am pretty sure romancing the pretty vampire boy isn't going to work out. The thing is, I totally get Vampy's motivations. If I was playing as him, I'd be 100% on board. But my Tav just can't go along with his ambitions. I can't enable past a point.

Anyway, I think I do video game romances wrong in general. Since it always needs to be somewhat static script you need to go along with the LI and ignore your own ambitions / morality / approach, etc. Granted, I do have Gale and Lae'zel sniffing after me, literally. Both have talked about liking my scent. But, nope, not interested. I might have been able to pull Karlach if I'd added her to the party sooner and she is fantastic, but I am only interested in being barbarian BFFs. Halsin? Maaaybe... I have a lot to do before I can even unlock additional dialogue from him.

There is a possible outcome I've been spoiled on that would be ideal, but I think you need to optimize your playthrough for it. No way I am getting that specific ending.

Also, the studio put out some stats on how the game is doing. "During the launch weekend, you played a combined 1225 years of Baldur’s Gate 3". Also, players spent a total of 88 years in character creation. More stats here
