* I wrote and posted one BG3 Tav/Astarion story. Short, early game spoilers, Astarion POV.
* I wrote two other drafts I might edit into finished BG3 stories.
* I wrote one longer story while still in Act 2, and a crucial plot point was based on a spoiler that is going around. Turns out, the spoiler is not correct. Idiot me kinda assumed it was legit because of who some of the people repeating it where and also it makes sense for some early game events. I tried to rewrite the story informed by the actual plot, but it's not really working. I am going to finish the game and then decide what to do with the story.
Now, despite this torpedoing a finished story, I am not really upset. I think being upset would be understandable, but eh. But this is why I try to stay ahead of spoilers when I can. They aren't always correct, sometimes it's a hot take or someone trying to make drama. Sometimes it's correct but taken way out of context. The information is never neutral. It's letting twitter drama effect my first experience of a canon... and in this case my in-game choices in a game with 17,000 endings. So it will literally effect what I see.
* I have 3 Steddie stories I want done by the end of next month and I have worked on one of them. But yeah, October rushes closer and I have BG3 and also GW2: SOTO that will distract me. Also,

Date: 2023-08-24 07:54 pm (UTC)From:I always wait with writing fics until the end of games/gameplays, because I never know if the characters I like in the beginning of the game will remain my favourite until the end of the game. Some games are very surprising in that regard. Some movie franchises did ruin my fic ideas when the sequels did things I did not expect.

Date: 2023-08-24 09:24 pm (UTC)From:Yeah, I got ahead of myself with one but also did wait and see later chapters of the story before posting. Now I am very glad I did! I am doing some writing while playing, to get ideas and vibes committed to paper but I am trying to finish the game first. This game is huge, though. It will take a while!
