* I am trying to get into a regular schedule of writing and getting out of the house to do so. Yesterday I was at The Stacks coffee shop:

Weird that I'd never been there before. Now, I need to figure out my order at each of these places because if you are going to be in a coffee shop for a bit it's chill to also order food, but I can't eat food at these places, or the spendier coffees. And when I order an americano they keep giving it to me in a small mug?
Anyway, that is a project for next week since it's going to hit 100° this week.
* A while back I posted about a really shitty experience at the one trans-masc inclusive event I could find. I wasn't sure if I was going to go again. My decision was to wait until pride season was over and try again. I was planning out my schedule for this month and saw that the group is gone.
* Still amazed that Nano, allegedly a community of writers, went with 'some writers don't have community so AI is good'. D'Angelo has a good video on them trying to use marginalized communities as a shield and actually being very ableist while accusing others of it.

I remember how shitty the trans-masc event was. I wonder if it was generally kind of shitty for many of the attendees, for it to have completely dissolved like that. I'm sorry that it as a thing went away, because I know how rare those events are at all, but I'm not sorry it's gone if it was always garbagey.

Date: 2024-09-11 01:07 am (UTC)From:Yeah... group running is SUCH a constant drain, particularly when you do want to make sure that it's done well. I know a lot of people who have gotten very burned out trying to do it for the long-term, and it's understandable. But it's also frustrating when groups are *badly* run, or are run by people who just kind of suck, ha. Good groups run by good people are definitely precious rarities.
