* I am trying to get into a regular schedule of writing and getting out of the house to do so. Yesterday I was at The Stacks coffee shop:

Weird that I'd never been there before. Now, I need to figure out my order at each of these places because if you are going to be in a coffee shop for a bit it's chill to also order food, but I can't eat food at these places, or the spendier coffees. And when I order an americano they keep giving it to me in a small mug?

Anyway, that is a project for next week since it's going to hit 100° this week.

* A while back I posted about a really shitty experience at the one trans-masc inclusive event I could find. I wasn't sure if I was going to go again. My decision was to wait until pride season was over and try again. I was planning out my schedule for this month and saw that the group is gone.

* Still amazed that Nano, allegedly a community of writers, went with 'some writers don't have community so AI is good'. D'Angelo has a good video on them trying to use marginalized communities as a shield and actually being very ableist while accusing others of it.

Re: nano
What amazes me the most is the implied belief that poor and/or disabled people cannot write without AI. Like. What the fuck are you thinking over there??? How did you get THERE??

Another video for the watch later list! It really is an infuriating claim on top of the stance itself.

Looks like a cute coffee shop!

I remember how shitty the trans-masc event was. I wonder if it was generally kind of shitty for many of the attendees, for it to have completely dissolved like that. I'm sorry that it as a thing went away, because I know how rare those events are at all, but I'm not sorry it's gone if it was always garbagey.

Ooh, good thought. Aesthetic cute writing spots will be perfect for that!

Ugh. There's no keeping a group together or making it work when the leadership sucks. I hope that makes space for something better to take its place, though I know that it's been extremely difficult to get anything like that going at all.

That definitely seems worth doing!

Yeah... group running is SUCH a constant drain, particularly when you do want to make sure that it's done well. I know a lot of people who have gotten very burned out trying to do it for the long-term, and it's understandable. But it's also frustrating when groups are *badly* run, or are run by people who just kind of suck, ha. Good groups run by good people are definitely precious rarities.

Ugh, NaNo just keeps fucking up. I haven't participated in years, but doing it in the mid-2000s was a formative writing experience for me, so this is sad.
