Part 4 - Original Fic
For a number of reasons not having any original fic that I could point to has been a problem for me recently. Even just yesterday, there was a place I could have linked original work if I had any. Also, I am not getting younger and always wanted to be a writer, so not even having shareable writing samples is making me feel bad. I really want to have some completed original work soon, but also it is going to take a minute to figure some out and write it.
I have a few options:
* I do think my train novel is very do-able, even though there are things about the plot I still need to nail down.
* I could pivot some current WIPs, like the Constantine one, into original work
* I have a different werewolf novel that I very much want to work on, but it's not first impression material.
* Figure out some short fics I could just get done fairly quickly. Thinking about this I did come up with a character and some world building around him, but don't have great plot ideas for him. This is an eternal problem with me, coming up with world building is one thing, intriguing openings I can do, but where do I want the story to go? I am trying to think about some very short things I can do, and playing around with this one UF concept about a photographer... in Portland... whose mental map is based on the local art scene. I mean, I could do a lot of great detail for a concept like that? Anyway, I am spending some time bouncing ideas around for... hopefully something?
So, I have a lot of things I want to get done. This is probably too much to all manage in a year, but I just need to keep pushing. Maybe once my current projects are done I can pivot to focused more on original stuff for a bit. Sorry if that was a lot of rambling, but writing it all out once in a while helps me organize. And maybe soon-ish I might actually pivot to using trello just to make sure I don't lose track of goals and also projects where I have a lot done on them.

No, seriously, how do they not know there the missing chunk of plane is? It just fell somewhere over the west side or maybe Aloha.
* I am feeling somewhere better, but still don't have the concentration to really edit. I have done some random writing though and I did my taking stock posts, but editing is just not working. I know we aren't far into the new year, but already it feels like it's sliding by. And since this is likely covid, all the things I was hoping to do next week are out. Weirdly, my brain is able to handle some art projects as long as I go very slow. I have a few things I am poking at in Procreate, but I also need to figure out some simple things to do like Batty. I have a pile of complicated things I want to do, but they are all far beyond me for now.
